12 of the Cutest Hanging Chairs (for YOUR house!)
If you’ve ever been to my home…or followed me on Instagram for very long, you’ll likely know how much I loooooove our hanging chair. In fact, our family has coined it, “Mama Bird’s Roost” because I can always be found snuggled up in it reading.
Although (sadly) ours isn’t sold anymore (we bought it from Pier One five or so years ago), I thought I’d share some other favorites that ARE available! They come in varying price points so if you want to cry because the one you love breaks the bank…just keep looking! You’ll find a great one even without a massive budget.
Tip #1:
You’ll DEFINITELY want to make sure you drill into a stud when putting it up…otherwise, you’ll end up ripping it out of your ceiling as soon as you sit in it! And I know you don’t want a big rip in your drywall overhead.
Tip #2:
Ours was advertised as outdoor and had the option to be purchased with a free-standing frame so you didn’t have to actually drill into the stud in your ceiling. If you’re renting or don’t feel comfortable actually hanging it, this is a definite option!
Tip #3:
Ours came with a chain but I preferred the look of rope. I found this white rope at Home Depot and used it instead!

Ok, Ok…yes I’m ending this fun list with a chair that isn’t technically a hanging one. But sometimes we want the look of something but can’t HAVE the actual thing in this particular season. And that’s ok!! This cute guy from Home Depot is a perfect alternative!!
